Argentina crowned champion of the 2024 Copa América

Tonight, Argentina was crowned champion of the 2024 Copa América, becoming two-time champions, following beating Colombia.

The final started with a lot of energy between both teams, but neither team managed to get any clear scoring opportunities. The score is tied at 0-0 at half-time, following the first 45 minutes without extra time.

After the performance by Colombian and official artist of the 2024 Copa América, Shakira, the second half of this historic duel began.

In the 65th minute, world champion Lionel Messi officially bids farewell to this continental tournament following being withdrawn due to an injury to his right ankle. This being his last Copa América before his retirement from professional football.

Extra time in the Copa America final

In the 7th minute of the second half of extra time, Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring with a last-minute shot in this Copa América final. At the end of the second extra time, Argentina managed to be crowned champion of the 2024 Copa América following defeating Colombia 1-0.
