Justification

The president commented that They will not be given “a blank check” rather, the functions are established by law and they must coordinate actions at the departmental level on behalf of the president.

“In several departments we have not found people who, according to these parameters, leave us satisfied in terms of the conditions to receive public trust to exercise the functions of governor,” Arévalo argued.

He assured that all the governors appointed by Alejandro Giammattei They will be relieved eventually. He ruled out the possibility of appointing interim governors while the final process is completed in the areas where the shortlists were returned or there are protections.

I explain that following the Codedes were notified regarding the decision They have five days to send new shortlists for president. The president trusts that lists will be sent with people who meet the requirements he is looking for.

“We have seen that in some departments Those same rules have managed to produce shortlists in which there is at least one candidate that meets these basic conditions to be a repository of public trust, once more, without this constituting a blank check,” he indicated.

He added that in the same way the new governors will be “under the magnifying glass” and that they will enter into a regulatory framework transformation process so that acts of possible cooptation do not occur in the Councils or non-governmental representations.
