After the meeting on Friday, April 19, between the mayor of Medellín, Federico Gutiérrez, and the head of the Mines and Energy portfolio, Andrés Camacho, the chief executive emphasized that there are no plans to carry out regulatory actions in EPM by the national executive.
Following the minister’s insinuations regarding a possible intervention in EPM, a meeting was called between the mayor of Medellín and the Minister of Mines and Energy in order to clarify the matter.
In an exchange of opinions, the official reiterated that the central government has no plans to intervene in the Public Companies of Medellín.
”We have had a very good conversation with the Minister of Mines in the face of so many rumors that we have received, the important thing is that the Minister clarified that the Government is not thinking about an intervention,” indicated the mayor of Medellín. Fico said in his speech
On the other hand, Gutiérrez stated that citizens will join the measures aimed at preventing rationing.
And I ask residents to use both their water and energy supplies responsibly, turning off taps properly and unplugging charging devices and other electrical appliances when not in use.
Finally, the president did not rule out the possibility that restrictions on the supply of water and energy may be applied in Medellín, depending on the evolution of the level of the reservoirs in the coming days.
