University professor Vicente Cuchillas assured this Friday in the Platform program that over the years, El Salvador had been working on a process of democratizing the electoral process, and it was starting with the 2021 elections that They made substantial progress, but currently, the country has a setback in electoral processes.
For the teacher, the division of powers has not been respected, taking over the judicial system in a conspiracy of the executive and legislative, where the new magistrates of the Constitutional Chamber gave a resolution where re-election is not illegal.
“The reduction of deputies and municipalities was done under the criterion of reducing costs, but it is not a valid argument, since to reduce municipalities a serious study had to be done, but only mathematical calculations were made in search of the total domainâ€clear.
In addition, the country’s resources have been used for government political propaganda, such as the deliveries of food boxes in different parts of the country to win votes, something that is prohibited by the Electoral Code.
“Because the government has desperately used resources to spread propaganda? Could it be that their statistics do not account for them? They have resented the population for not keeping their promises and are repressing them?Cuchillas questioned.
