Do the leaders of our team watch the tournaments?

The European Championship (without the Russians) and the St. Petersburg Championship (with the participation of some leaders of the national team) are held almost at the same time. Skaters who might fight for the continental championship in Finland compete for medals at the small skating rink of the FC Academy. And in Russian competitions, the results are usually better.

World, European and Olympic champions Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov in St. Petersburg they shone – for the first time in 4 years they made the most difficult parallel triple lutz and surpassed the current world record in the short program by more than 3 points. After a powerful performance, one of the fans shouted from the podium: “The real champions of Europe.” Other fans supported her with applause.

Did you hear the scream of the cheerleader? I ask Sasha.
Gallyamov: I heard it’s funny. It’s nice that the audience feels that way. I want to give the same love in return.

Despite the fact that the current European champions from Italy scored regarding 45 points less than Mishina and Gallyamov a year ago, Sasha admits that he has not lost interest in the tournament. In particular, the skater was worried regarding his friend Alexei Svyatchenko, who plays for Hungary in tandem with Maria Pavlova.

“There are some elements that were original. Most of all I liked Lech Svyatchenko, I was rooting for him, especially how he squeezed out the last support. I already shouted: “Come on, Lech!” It reminded me of the Rostelecom Cup, I don’t remember what year, in Luzhniki. A pair of Astakhov-Roganov, “Master and Margarita”, and he pressed in a lasso and also might not put the squeeze on. From the fourth time he pressed it, the audience was then delighted. She didn’t count, but he was a hero.”– says Gallyamov.

Another European champion, Russian greenhouse Dmitry Kozlovsky, speaking with Alexandra Boikova, expressed a more categorical opinion. Sasha and Dima also compete at the tournament in St. Petersburg and take the preliminary second place.

– The European Championship is underway. Did you manage to follow?
I don’t watch the European Championship.

– Generally?
– Generally.

– Not interested?
– You understand, I saw a picture with statistics, where the points of the winners were indicated. We won the European Championship with points over 230. Our colleagues won in general under 240. Now people cannot score over 200.

In men’s single skating, the Russians, if they participated in the Euro, would face more serious competition. In any case, the world junior champion Andrey Mozalev It’s a shame that the tournament goes on without him.

Did you follow the European Championship?
– I didn’t look much, I went through the printouts. I wouldn’t say anyone was surprised.

– It’s a shame that you’re not at the tournament?
– It’s a shame. But I think my championships are yet to come. So I don’t get discouraged.

“I watch the European Championship. I am extremely happy for my friend Matteo Rizzo, I was very worried regarding him yesterday. I congratulated him. I am very pleased that he also managed to overcome, to rise once more four years later to the pedestal.

And so I will keep my fists for our girl, teammate Nastya Gubanova. (an interview with Dmitry was recorded before the free program of the girls, – Sport24). Before the First Channel Cup, I sent her all kinds of rays of energy that I had, and I want her to use them and bring a medal. I really want her to do well.”
