A photo of crawfish uploaded by a Japanese netizen to a social networking service (SMS) is becoming a hot topic.
In a photo posted on Twitter by a netizen who introduced himself as a farmer in Ibariki Prefecture, Japan on the 30th of last month, you can see four crayfish cooked alive on a paddy field filled with water.
The netizen also posted a photo of the temperature of the water at the bottom of the paddy field. The temperature displayed on the meter is 43.3 degrees Celsius.
A netizen who saw the photo expressed surprise, saying, “This is the first time I’ve seen something like this.”
Japan, which is suffering from power shortages, is experiencing record-breaking heatwaves and fears of large-scale power outages.
NHK reported that the temperature at the end of June was the highest in 100 years, saying that an unusually high heat wave of 40 degrees Celsius hit Japan.
