Marriages follow one another in the Grand Ducal family of Luxembourg. A nephew of Grand Duke Henri, Archduke Alexander of Habsburg-Lorraine, is preparing to marry Natacha Roumiantzoff-Pachkevitch. Archduke Alexander is the last of five siblings to marry. Alexander is the last child of Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg and Archduke Carl Christian to marry.

New marriage in sight in the Grand Ducal family

Natacha Roumiantzoff has been seen in the Nassau family photos for years. In 2020, for example, she was photographed next to Prince Sébastien of Luxembourg, last son of Grand Duke Henri, at the wedding of Archduchess Gabriella and Prince Henri de Bourbon-Parme. More recently, the young woman appeared arm in arm with Archduke Alexander of Austria, nephew of Grand Duke Henri, at the wedding of Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg in Bormes-les-Mimosas.

Many were those who had noticed the closeness between the son of Princess Marie-Astrid and the young woman, poorly identified so far. And for good reason, the two young people are regarding to get married. Archduke Alexander of Habsburg-Lorraine, 32, will marry Natacha Roumiantzoff on September 30, 2023 in Switzerland. The religious wedding will be celebrated in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Montreux, at the beginning of the followingnoon. The reception will take place on the shores of Lake Geneva in the majestic Fairmont Palace. This hotel, built in 1906, is both modern and in Belle Epoque style, nicknamed the pearl of the Swiss Riviera. Dinner and the evening will follow in the same palace.

Archduke Alexander is the fourth of five children of Archduke Carl Christian and Princess Marie-Astrid of Luxembourg. The eldest of the siblings, Archduchess Marie-Christine married Count Rodolphe de Limburg Stirum in 2008 and they are parents to three sons. The second, Archduke Imre married Kathleen Walker in 2012 and they are regarding to welcome their fifth child. The third is Archduke Christophe, married to Adelaïde Drapé-Frisch in 2012, parents of three children. The last is Archduchess Gabriella, wife of Prince Henri de Bourbon-Parme since 2020, and mother of two children.

Archduke Carl Christian of Habsburg-Lorraine is the grandson of Emperor Charles 1 of Austria. Settled in Belgium, he is at the origin of a Belgian branch of the Habsburg-Lorraine family, which was integrated into the Belgian nobility system in 1983. The title of archduke being an Austrian specificity and not present in the Belgian nobility , the family was granted the title of Prince and the predicate of Serene Highness by King Baudouin. Officially, in Belgium, Archduke Carl Christian and his descendants who bear his name are princes and princesses of Habsburg-Lorraine.

Princess Marie-Astrid, 69, sister of Grand Duke Henri, is the eldest of the five children of Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte, born Princess of Belgium. Marie-Astrid is the niece of King Albert II of Belgium and the first cousin of King Philippe. Archduke Carl Christian has also been close to the Belgian royal family since the marriage of his first cousin, Archduke Lorenz, to Princess Astrid, sister of King Philippe and daughter of King Albert II.
