At the beginning of the year, the star singers collected 326,000 euros in the Archdiocese of Hamburg for children in poor countries around the world. That is 26,000 euros less than in 2023. The aid organization “Die Sternsinger” has now announced this in Aachen.
In the first days of January, children dressed as the “Three Kings” were out and about in the Catholic communities in Hamburg, Mecklenburg and Schleswig-Holstein. As part of the star singer campaign, they brought the blessing wish “20+C+M+B+24” (Christus Mansionem Benedicat = Christ bless this house) into the houses and asked for donations for children’s projects.
The star singer campaign took place for the 66th time. In addition to promoting children’s aid projects, the relief organization’s tasks include supporting the rights of children worldwide and educational work. In total, the star singers collected around 46 million euros at the beginning of 2024.
The campaign is supported by the Association of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ) and the children’s missionary organization “Die Sternsinger”.

- State of Hamburg: 89,334.74 euros / 11 – previous year: 140,499.92 euros / 15 communities and groups
- Federal state of Schleswig-Holstein: 124,346.49 euros / 30 – previous year: 104,976.24 euros / 27 communities and groups
- Federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 132,174.78 euros / 33 – previous year: 124,386.39 euros / 37 communities and groups
