In the presence of the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, this evening in the Holy Church of Agios Ioannis Kynigos, the solemn vespers was celebrated on the occasion of the feast of Agios Nikolaos of Plana.
The Bishop of Stavropigiu, Mr. Alexios, officiated and preached the Divine Word at the Mass. After the end of the vespers, the Archbishop wished everyone a happy and blessed birthday.
Then the Archbishop, asked by a journalist what the Church thinks following the passing of the bill on the marriage of same-sex couples, emphasized that “it is an issue, for which we will position ourselves in the Permanent Holy Synod that will meet next week and we will decide together” .
