Arab Youth Center Launches Fifth Edition of Young Arab Media Leaders Programme

ABU DHABI, 10th September, 2018 (WAM) – Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Arab Youth Centre, the Arab Youth Center in Abu Dhabi announced the launch of the activities of the fifth edition of the Young Arab Media Leaders Programme, with the participation of 51 young men and women from 18 Arab countries. In cooperation with 20 Arab and international media institutions.
The program is one of the largest training programs that focus on practical skills in the Arab world, as it targets distinguished young people in the final stages of university studies or at the beginning of their professional journey following graduation, in order to enhance their skills, build their capabilities, enrich their experiences, and raise their competitiveness for the labor market.
His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of young people coming to work in the media sector adhering to human values ​​and community service derived from our Arab and Islamic identity, in a way that enhances the message and lofty goals of the media profession in serving communities.
His Highness said that Arab youth are able to present a better image of Arab capabilities in various development sectors through professional media that balances professionalism and the use of contemporary technology tools by relying on the capabilities and creativity of young people. Therefore, the Center will continue to invest and develop knowledge and skills and strive to provide opportunities for all talented people.
The activities of the fifth edition will witness many specialized training workshops and expanded meetings with leaders of media institutions, experts and trainers, which will contribute to their training and knowledge of institutionalizing purposeful media work, and allow them to take a closer look at the nature of the work of newsrooms and multiple media platforms, and qualify them to acquire the skills of a talented media person, It contributes to strengthening young people’s connection to identity and the Arabic language.
The program’s activities will include members’ participation in the activities of the International Government Communication Forum in Sharjah in the middle of this month, the Arab Media Forum in Dubai at the end of September, and the World Media Congress in Abu Dhabi next November.
