The Arab League called for the adoption of a UN resolution opposing Israel’s move to ban the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) from operating in the country.
The meeting demanded in its decision that representatives of Arab countries in New York coordinate with ambassadors and representatives of friendly countries and the UN Secretariat to request the convening of a special session of the UN General Assembly.
“Because it was the body that issued the decision to establish UNRWA, to discuss the serious impact of this Israeli law and to issue a UN resolution rejecting this illegal Israeli action,” the Arab League statement said.

**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us today, Susan. Let’s dive right in. In your experience, what are the essential qualities that a journalist should showcase during an interview?
**Susan Martinez:** Thanks for having me! I believe the best qualities a journalist can exhibit during an interview are curiosity, listening skills, and adaptability. Curiosity drives the research and questioning process, while listening allows the journalist to capture nuances in responses that can lead to more insightful follow-ups. Adaptability is crucial because interviews can often take unexpected turns.
**Interviewer:** That makes a lot of sense. Speaking of interviews, what are some key questions that aspiring journalists should prepare for when applying to a publication?
**Susan Martinez:** Absolutely, candidates should expect questions about their writing style and editorial decisions. For instance, they might be asked, “What are the best qualities of your writing style?” or “Why do you want to work for our publication?” These questions help interviewers gauge a candidate’s fit within the publication’s ethos and mission.
**Interviewer:** Those are definitely important questions. Could you share a bit about how one should approach answering these questions effectively?
**Susan Martinez:** Sure! When discussing your writing style, it’s important to emphasize clarity, storytelling ability, and engagement. Use examples that showcase your style. Regarding the motivation for wanting to work at a particular publication, research the company’s values and recent stories they’ve published. Tailoring your answer to reflect that knowledge demonstrates genuine interest.
**Interviewer:** Great tips! Now, in your opinion, how has the role of journalism evolved in today’s digital landscape, particularly concerning interviews?
**Susan Martinez:** The digital landscape has transformed journalism significantly. Interviews can now reach broader audiences through various platforms like podcasts, social media, and video. This evolution requires journalists to be not just good writers but also effective communicators across different formats. The need for real-time information and audience engagement also means that journalists must be quicker and more versatile than ever before.
**Interviewer:** Interesting perspective, Susan. Lastly, can you share any advice for new journalists on how to stand out in the current job market?
