New medals for Arabs in athletics and boxing in the “Asiad”

The athletics and boxing competitions at the Asian Games held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou on Tuesday witnessed new coronations for Arab athletes from Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, adding new medals to their tally in the games, which continue until October 8.

The start came from the Bahraini runner, Oluwakemi Adekoya, who won the gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles competition, raising the number of Bahrain’s medals in the Asian Games to 7 gold medals and 12 medals in total, confirming its lead over the Arabs.

As for the Qatari runner, Bassem Hamida, he won the silver medal in the men’s 400-meter hurdles race, while the Omani runner, Hussein Al-Farisi, won the bronze medal in the 800-meter race, which is the third medal for Oman in the Asian Games.

As for the Saudi runner, Issa Ghazwani, he won the gold medal in the 800-meter race, adding a new gold medal for Saudi Arabia in the games. The Arab achievements did not stop here, but the Qatari, Abdul Rahman Samba, won the gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles race in the competitions.

On the other hand, the Iraqi boxer, Ali Qasim Al-Saray, succeeded in winning the bronze medal in the boxing competition in the weight category under 63.5 kilograms, breaking this medal, which broke the modest Iraqi presence in the Asian Games currently being held in the city of Hangzhou.
