Indonesian women’s doubles badminton player Apriyani Rahayu revealed that she still has the motivation to return to competition, after taking a break in the last few months to focus on recovering from injuries.
“Thank God, the motivation is still the same, because it’s like being ‘hurt’ by badminton but healed again by badminton. So, yes, thank God, (the condition) is better, the motivation has not changed,” said Apriyani at the PP PBSI National Training Center. Cipayung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (6/11).
“Alhamdulillah, (the news) is good today, I have started training too. (Regarding) When will the comeback be, just pray for the best, if it can be better

After being absent from several tournaments after the 2024 Paris Olympics, Apriyani seemed to ‘disappear’ from the world of tepok bulu because she completely shifted her focus to healing the injury she had been suffering from for some time.
However, now, she has returned to training with the Indonesian women’s doubles team at the PP PBSI National Training Center and admits that her condition is better.
“(During the break) definitely (focus on) recovery, yes, starting from the mind, being able to make peace with what has (happened) like yesterday’s Olympics,” said Apriyani.

“So, (I) try to spend some time alone first, really, really keep away from everything, actually, so how long has it been?

However, the gold medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics has not revealed exactly when he will return to competing in prestigious tournaments.

Meanwhile, Apriyani’s partner, Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, is currently being paired with Lanny Tria Mayasari to take part in several championships this year.
Lanny/Fadia took home the title of champion of the Indonesia International Challenge 2024 and runner-up of the Indonesia Masters II Super 100-2024 in Surabaya in their debut.
Regarding this, Apriyani said she provided support for both of them.

**Apriyani Rahayu:** I’m feeling very positive! I’ve started training again with the team at the PP PBSI National Training Center. The team atmosphere really lifts my spirit, and it feels good to be back in action. As for when I’ll compete again, I’m just taking it step by step and hoping for the best.
*Interviewer: That’s great to hear! You mentioned peace of mind and coming to terms with the outcomes of the Olympics. How important is that aspect for you as an athlete?*
