The reform is in line with international standards on Human Rights.
A qualified majority approved a project to reform the Criminal Records and Records Law, presented by the Permanent Commission on Domestic Policy of the National Assembly (AN).
Congresswoman Rosa León, presenter of the project, explained the scope and objectives of the reform and highlighted that it guarantees discretion, the right to due process, procedural speed, and the simplification of administrative acts, which will result in a better and fairer application of justice.
Likewise, it indicated that the reform is in line with international standards on Human Rights, since it provides for gender equality, the right to confidentiality and access to information, among other aspects.
