Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Chamber of Deputies unanimously approved the budget increase for the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), which will allow for the doubling of five kilometers of Defensores del Chaco Avenue.
This is the bill “Which extends the general budget of the Nation for the fiscal year 2024, approved by Law No. 7228 dated December 29, 2023, to the Ministry of Public Works and Communications”, the sum of which amounts to G. 73,000,000,000.
The route to be duplicated has a length of five kilometers, from Américo Picco Avenue to the 4 Mojones viaduct on Fernando de la Mora Avenue, on the border between Villa Elisa and Lambaré.
These municipalities had already requested the MOPC to duplicate this section in response to the chaotic traffic that the inhabitants of these cities currently suffer.
According to the MOPC report, the aforementioned proposal was widely discussed at the Lower House’s working groups, with the aim of turning the busy avenue into the entrance to the capital.
