Appointment of Anne-Cécile Violland, Member of Parliament for the 5th constituency of Haute-Savoie, as President of the Health Environment Group of the 4th National Health Environment Plan

Christophe BechuMinister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, and Agnès Firmin Le BodoMinister Delegate to the Minister of Health and Prevention, in charge of Territorial Organization and Health Professions, announce the appointment of Mrs. Anne-Cécile Viollandmember of the 5e constituency of Haute-Savoie, Chairman of the Health and Environment Group (GSE) from 4e National Environmental Health Plan.

In effect, Agnès Firmin Le Bodo, to whom François Braun, Minister of Health and Prevention, has entrusted the conduct of the “Environmental Health” work, will bring together alongside Christophe Béchu, during the month of March 2023 the GSE to announce the new members , launch a new working method and present future work. On this occasion, the ministers will give him his mission letter.

The GSE brings together different colleges (State, parliamentarians, local authorities, associations, trade unions, companies) to which are added qualified personalities and professionals from the health system. It is responsible for monitoring the actions and orientations of the 4e National Environmental Health Planentitled “One environment, one health” (published on May 7, 2021), and pursues the following ambitions :

  • better train, inform and raise awareness populations, including the most vulnerable, and professionals, including health professionals;
  • reduce exposure to environmental factors (chemical, physical, biological agents) and the associated health risks;
  • amplify the deployment of environmental health projects at all territorial scales;
  • improve knowledge links between health and the environment through research and by facilitating access to environmental and health data for the scientific community.

National Environmental Health Plans have been in place since 2004 by the ministries in charge of health and the environment with the aim of reducing the impact of changes in our environment on our health. They are listed in the Public Health Code and must be renewed every five years in order to take into account new societal issues and adapt to advances in scientific knowledge.

Ministers salute Elisabeth Toutut-Picard, former MP, for her commitment from 2018 to 2022 to the presidency of the GSE. She will now chair the territorial coordination committee, a GSE body.
