Preparing Apple company To host its annual developer conference, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023 on June 5, at the event, the tech giant is expected to unveil its software-related developments as well as new hardware, such as an AR/VR headset.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Mark Gurman claimed that the upcoming headset might be one of Apple CEO Tim Cook’s biggest announcements that may also affect his legacy. Gurman also added that the Apple Reality Pro (the company’s first mixed reality headset) may contain On an external display that may show users’ facial expressions, the rumored headset will run the new xrOS operating system and cost around $3,000.

Apple headphones may contain an external screen

According to Gorman, the wearable mixed reality headset from Apple will contain an external screen, and the external screen will help users stay connected to the real world as it will display their eye movements and facial expressions, and the report adds that Apple is considering this feature as a major differentiator from other closed VR headset models. The report also adds that the external display will enable people to interact with users without feeling like they’re talking to a bot.

Apple Reality Pro: What to expect

Rumors suggest that Apple’s upcoming AR/VR headset may include a separate battery pack that is expected to be connected to a power cord. It is possible that the headset can act as an external display for the Mac that may help users join group video calls.

Apple is also reportedly working with developers and other entertainment companies to create content for the device once it’s official. However, Gurman also mentioned that the company’s long-awaited augmented reality (AR) glasses are still at least four years away from being available.

The company has not yet shared official details regarding the Reality Pro headset, but reports indicate that the upcoming product will likely come powered by the Apple M2 chipset and will be supported by 16GB of RAM.
