The prospect of an iPhone with a foldable screen is moving away and resets to 2025 instead of one to two years earlier. In his report on the evolution of this sector, Ross Young, an analyst at DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants) – specializing in the screen market – expects Apple to enter the race for 2025.
A 120 Hz mini-LED screen for future MacBook Pros?
Prior to this, Ming Chi-Kuo had placed the cursor on 2023 and the same Ross Young spoke from 2024. This one-year delay in its estimates is the result of discussions with suppliers, which suggest that Apple is in no hurry for this phone format.
On the other hand, Young has expressed interest in a 20″ foldable screen. Unfolded it would act as an Ultra-HD/4K monitor or more and will require an external keyboard. Semi-folded it would turn into a laptop with a keyboard Suffice to say that this hypothetical product does not resemble anything existing at Apple, Ross Young does not envisage anything concrete on the subject before 2026/2027.
In view of the description we can also think that it is one of the many ideas that Apple is testing, without necessarily having a fixed project on what it will give concretely.
