Apple working on a 20-inch foldable OLED MacBook

A previous report revealed that Apple plans to introduce two new models of iPad with OLED screens in 2024, as it is expected that LG and Samsung will provide OLED screens for the famous iPad models, and it has also been speculated that the company will release foldable MacBooks by 2027.

Now, a new report claims that the company has already started work on a MacBook with a 20-inch foldable screen. According to a report by The Elec, Apple will use a 20.25-inch OLED screen that will be shipped by an “unknown South Korean supplier.” The supplier might be Samsung. But the report did not confirm this. The company is already supplying OLED screens to Apple for its upcoming iPad models.

Moreover, Samsung is also a major player in the foldable devices and screens market.

It is possible that the alleged foldable MacBook will have a 20.25-inch foldable OLED screen when opened, while the screen will be 15.3 inches when the device remains folded. For comparison, the higher version of the latest iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch screen, but the screen size The next folded device will be smaller than the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple is not expected to release the foldable MacBook before iPads and MacBooks are transitioned to OLED screens, and currently, the company only uses OLED screens for its premium Apple Watch and iPhone models. The remaining Apple products are equipped with either mini-LED or LCD screens.

According to the report, the company may also plan to replace the current iPad Mini with a 10-inch foldable device, and the report also indicates that despite all the rumors, Apple has yet to start working on a foldable iPhone.
