Apple will fix a bug that makes the iPhone 14 Pro camera shake

(CNN Business) — Apple said it is working on a software fix following some users who recently bought an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max reported that the rear cameras on their devices were shaking “uncontrollably” and making strange noises when using social media apps.

In videos and posts uploaded to social networks, some users explained that the problem only occurred when using the camera with third-party platforms, such as Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram. A YouTube user posted a video in which it was seen how the phone shook when using TikTok. Other users published Similar issues on Reddit. “I have been experiencing my camera shaking uncontrollably every time I open Snapchat or use the camera for Instagram,” wrote one. “However, I don’t have any problems when I use the normal camera app.”

In a statement to CNN on Tuesday, Apple said it is currently working on resolving the issue.

“We are aware of the issue and a fix will be released next week,” a company spokesman said.

It’s a bit of a slip for Apple following it unveiled a batch of new iPhones earlier this month. The Pro models, which boast the industry’s first 48MP camera and a host of advanced new features, are thought to be in especially high demand this year, which might give Apple a boost, given that these models start at $999.

In a series of recent tweets, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that demand for the iPhone 14 Pro models reportedly caused Apple to shift production lines from its standard iPhone 14 lineup to make more of the higher-end devices. . At the same time, the iPhone 14 Pro models appear to have longer standby times than the rest of the iPhone 14 lineup.

Apple’s fix wouldn’t be the first software update since the company released its latest mobile software, iOS 16, last Monday. Shortly following, Apple released iOS 16.0.1. to fix activation issues for the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro devices, and to fix a bug with the zoom feature on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
