Apple: Why you shouldn't buy an expensive iPad until further notice

There’s a lot of buzz in the rumor mill and only one thing is clear: now is not the right time to buy an expensive iPad.

Anyone planning to buy an iPad Pro model should definitely wait at the moment. There are numerous reports and rumors circulating about a new generation of iPad Pro with OLED displays, which we have reported on several times.

Many observers actually expected that Apple would officially present the new products in March. But now a release in April seems more and more likely. The well-known display analyst Ross Young expects an April release, as does the usually very well-informed Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman.

In his newsletter, Gurman also writes about the possible reason for a delay in the release of the new iPad models. Here it says:

“I have repeatedly said that the new software for the iPad Pro – a variant of iPadOS 17.4 designed for the updated models – will not be ready until the end of March or even sometime in April. Once the operating system is ready, Apple must “Send it to the factories so it can be installed on the new hardware. This process could take a few weeks, probably into next month.”

Both analysts therefore see a release soon, although we still have to be patient. In addition to the OLED display, the two iPad Pro models will most likely be equipped with Apple’s M3 processor. A new iPad Air, possibly in a 12.9-inch version for the first time, is also being discussed.

Anyone hoping for the Apple Watch X and the iPhone 16 generation to be released soon will have to wait until autumn. The Apple Vision Pro is also expected to appear in Germany this year.
