Apple Watch Ultra is virtually indestructible

The new Apple Watch Ultra from the giant Apple keeps its promises: its titanium shell makes it almost indestructible.

Announced earlier this month and released 4 days ago, theApple Watch Ultra, the connected watch designed for athletes and extreme conditions, promised, among other things, foolproof resistance. According to YouTube channel TechRax, it was not false .

Revealing tests

The YouTube channel TechRax (7.62 million subscribers) was able to obtain a copy of the Apple Watch Ultra. A video was published on the channel two days ago, presenting the new born of the giant of Cupertino. But it was not an ordinary unboxing of this product following all, well designed and effective despite a very high price (999€). The man behind the camera decided to subject the connected watch a series of more or less violent tests to check if, as Apple claims, this watch is indeed indestructible.

After dropping it on the ground at eye level and then shaking it in a bottle full of nails, the Apple Watch Ultra only comes out with a few scratches on its titanium case. Even the screen remains intact and everything still works perfectly.

The watch is so tough that it takes several hard hammer blows to the Apple Watch to stop it working. The exterior still looks good, but the watch just doesn’t work anymore. A few more shots and this time it’s the screen that cracks, the frame still remaining whole.

A “virtually repairable” watch

We learn on the other hand, via the iFixit channel, that the Apple Watch Ultra has screws behind its case, a first for an Apple watch which gives hope of welcome repairability. The hope will only be short-lived since following removing the four screws, its user will not have direct access to the battery or the essential components.

To see them, you will have to remove the glass first, thus taking the risk of breaking it. This is why the chain describes this connected watch as “virtually repairable”. Fortunately, if used properly, the watch should not have need repairs immediately saw its overall solidity. Note that, this year, Apple seems to be making welcome efforts in terms of the durability of its products. iFixit Proven, the iPhone 14 also comes out with honors.
