The Swiss manufacturer ams-OSRAM AGsupplier of Apple, announced today that one of its customers canceled an “important project” — something that might force it to sell part of its production unit in Malaysia.
The company declined to identify the customer in question, but said the project “supports its Micro-LED display strategy.” Several analysts, however, said that the planning is related to the Apple Watch — more specifically, the production of the model with a display Micro-LED.

However, progress was very slow and it became clear that Apple would have to postpone the release date. Apple had to decide whether to continue or completely overhaul its MicroLED strategy.
Recently, it is worth noting, the The Elec assessed that Apple had not completed the supply chain of components to manufacture Micro-LED screens for the Apple Watch, so a launch in 2026 — or even 2027 — is uncertain.
