Apple warns of a security flaw in iPhones, iPad and Macs: attackers could take full control of the devices

San FranciscoApple revealed serious security vulnerabilities in iPhones, iPads and Macs on Wednesday.

Software flaws might allow attackers to take complete control of these devicesApple said in two security reports.

The company said it is “aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.”

Security experts have advised users to update affected devices: iPhones 6S and later; various iPad models, including fifth generation and later, all iPad Pro models, and iPad Air 2; and Mac computers running MacOS Monterey.

Also, it affects some iPod models.

Apple’s explanation of the vulnerability means that a hacker might gain “full administrator access to the device” in order to “execute any code as if it were you, the user”said the CEO of SocialProof Security, Rachel Tobac.

Those who should be especially vigilant in updating their software are “people in the public eye”, such as activists or journalists, who might be the target of sophisticated espionage by nation-states.Tobacco pointed out.
