Apple Inc on Wednesday (18th) issued a warning that the company’s smartphone iPhone, tablet computer iPad and computer Mac have serious security vulnerabilities, calling on users to be careful and take precautions. Apple issued two notices that the software flaws might allow attackers to hack into those electronic devices and take full control of those devices.
The company said it was aware of these problems and had begun to look for a cause and a solution. Security experts are urging users to update their phones, tablets and computers. Affected include the iPhone 6S and later models, several iPad models (including fifth-generation and later models), all iPad Pros and iPad Air2s, and Macs running macOS Monterey. Some iPod player models are also affected.
Toba, chief executive of Internet security firm SocialProof Security, said that following hackers successfully penetrated those devices, they might take full control and execute commands posing as users. He mentioned that some particularly vulnerable people, such as dissidents and journalists, should remember to update their electronic devices and plug security loopholes.
