Artist Van Dung reveals the unexpected sands of the Tao Quan artists

20 years of playing “Ao Quan”, do you especially like the role of Apple?
– Apple army this year has a special meaning when celebrating the show’s 20th anniversary, so we are very happy to have completed the program and bring to the audience an interesting, fun and meaningful “spiritual meal” on Christmas Eve. redundant. This is a program that leaves a special mark on our artist brothers. In general, it’s fun.
20 years with Apple army, I was fortunate to be given many different Apple roles. But perhaps the most successful is the Health Apple character. The audience is used to this image, and I like it too. But if given another role, I still accept it and try to complete it completely. I do my job, hoping to bring joy to the audience, but it’s hard to be picky.

Accompanying “Ao Quan” for 20 years, have you ever put a lot of weight on the issue of salary, because I know that the practice is very hard, sometimes it affects the artist’s outside show schedule?
– I think with Apple army, should not talk about salary, because it can’t be measured in money, it can only be measured in love. Everything that is the most elite, the most attractive, the most difficult, the most stressful, we all dedicate to the program, with the hope of bringing “spiritual food” to the audience on the occasion of Tet to Spring.
When we practice, we argue with each other sentence by sentence, word by word, on every issue. Usually it takes up to 10 days to discuss the script, not to mention months of practice. It’s not just acting, you have to understand current issues, you have to know how to press to create a climax to make the audience feel.
The salary of “Apple Army” is not high, so she received the show outside of Tet. There is an opinion that artists do not work all year as a show during Tet?
– On Tet, I rarely run shows, so I don’t know, from the 30th to the 4th of Tet is the time I spend with my family, go out with friends, or travel, not working. In the past, even when I was passionate about work, most eager to work, I only received shows from the 3rd onwards. Since 2000, I have gradually reduced, and now completely reduced the matter of working on New Year’s Day. Anyway, I need to slow down.

“New Year’s Day does not abstain from anything to avoid troubles”
Do you live slowly to reflect on the past year, or look forward to things to come?
I’m not usually in the habit of thinking that far ahead. Tet in me is the smell of firecrackers, sitting by the pot of banh chung, the moments when the family watches the fire together. I celebrated Tet in Hanoi with my son and parents. Whenever there are loved ones around, everyone is healthy, excitedly cutting boiled chicken to eat on New Year’s Eve, that much… I’m still happy.
So what do you abstain on Tet holiday?
– I don’t really care about taboos. The only fear is broken nails, I think if the nails are long and suddenly broken, it is a bad omen. But that was just a thing of the past, now I have changed. I think, should not abstain from doing anything to avoid trouble. If you like something, just do it. I cut my hair, eat squid, eat shrimp paste on the 1st of the Lunar New Year normally. If I don’t put too much weight on it, everything will be lighter.
It is said that now “Future is born with courtesy”. There are many conflicting views around this issue, but as optimistic as Van Dung, perhaps only see the positive side?
– Actually, it is not wrong to say “Phu Quy gives birth to the righteous”. When we are not rich enough to want to help anyone, we are powerless. But when I was full of material things, I thought about sharing with the community. Or in the past, only green bananas burned incense, now the tray is full. More luxuriously, we go on a spiritual journey. It’s a respectable culture.
I like to see the grandmothers and mothers going on spring trips and temple ceremonies. Beautiful! The whole street is lit up with colorful motifs. Where did you get it in the past? If in the past I was busy going to work, there would be moments of sitting blankly watching the street, watching people play Tet to be grateful for the fullness of the present time.
Whenever there are loved ones around, everyone is healthy,… I’m still happy.
Because “Phu Quy gave birth to the righteous”, there appeared even a situation of comparing money to celebrate the age of young children. What do you think?
– I think, happy birthday is a beautiful culture. Not only children, but adults like me also like it. Sometimes receiving lucky money is only 5, 10 thousand VND, but that money is treasured in a red envelope, given to each other in good faith, I appreciate it very much. For children, red envelopes send good wishes for being well-behaved and studying well on the occasion of the New Year’s Eve. Every family teaches their children like that, which will limit the comparison of the denominations of money in each red envelope.
I think, parents can tell their children that lucky money is not money given by everyone, but it is money that brings good luck, so that children will be healthier and better in the new year. At the same time, when the doctors come, it is not advisable to urge the children to ask for money.
Sometimes I accidentally tease, but young children absorb information very quickly, which easily leads to incorrect thoughts. If children are properly educated, lucky money is a beautiful culture. And if the education is wrong, there will be many variations around the gift of lucky money!
Van Dung is very good at taking care of her spiritual life. I have met her many times, but I always see her in the green spring. Have you ever been afraid of old age?
– Everyone is afraid of old age, but no one can stop it. The important thing is to live so that every day is meaningful. In the past, when it was still difficult, I used to rush to work regardless of morning and night. Many days, it is only 5 am to come home. But now it is different. I still work, still enthusiastic, but more selective.
In my free time, I pamper myself, live slowly and enjoy the results I have. I also usually think positively about everything. I always believe that I am only 24 years old.
