Apple released the latest version of its operating system – iOS 16 At its annual developer conference – WWDC 2022, following the launch of the new version, the company confirmed that only iPhone 8 and later versions will receive the iOS 16 update, which means that the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the first generation of iPhone SE will not receive the iOS 16 update .
Apple phones that will support iOS 16
Apple launched the original iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone SE in 2016, while the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were launched in 2015, meaning that all five smartphones have received six and seven years of regular software updates, and compared to With Android, Apple has a better record when it comes to updating older devices, and at the moment, most companies like Samsung and Nokia offer three years of software updates and five years of security for their smartphones.
