the comedy series “Wild Desert” (“High Desert”)do Apple TV+, was canceled just over two weeks following the conclusion of its first season. The information was confirmed by the producers of the series Patricia Arquette (“Severance”) e Ben Stillerthrough their social networks.
Arquette, who is also the star of the production, regretted Apple’s decision in a video posted on Instagram. The series, it is worth noting, scored 70% approval with the specialized critics and 79% approval with the general public. on the review site Rotten Tomatoes.
“High Desert”, of course, is far from the first Apple TV+ production to meet this end. In recent times, several series that failed to reach a good audience or appear in the main awards in the audiovisual world have also been cancelled, such as “Truth Be Told”, “Amber Brown”, “The Mosquito Coast” e “Dear Edward”.
If you’re a fan of the series, however, know that it’s not all bad news. According to Stiller, who also worked with Arquette on “Severance”the Cuperitno giant will not remove “High Desert” from the Apple TV+ catalog, contrary to what other streaming services tend to do with productions that do not go as well as expected.
Yes. We are all disappointed. Our entire #HighDesert cast was amazing and to all our fans, thank you for embracing this show.
I LOVE Patricia Arquette, who gave an awards worthy performance.
While we wish @AppleTV had stuck with it, we’re grateful they made it and it is on… https://t.co/hLuMFwze0u

Although we wish the @AppleTV
had continued with the series, we are grateful that they did and put it on service. And unlike other streaming services these days, they warned me that they won’t be removing any shows. So you can enjoy the first season forever. And feel free to let them know you want more!!
The production, it is worth remembering, follows the story of Peggy (Arquette), a former drug addict who decides to restart her own life following the death of her mother, to whom she was extremely attached. For this, the main character decides to become a private detective in the small town of Yucca Valley, in the US state of California.
The first and only season of “High Desert”as said, It’s all available now on Apple TV+. A pity, isn’t it?
