Apple has just exposed a mole within the company. Indeed, following several weeks of investigation, the Cupertino company got hold of the person who was distributing confidential information.
Apple and the cult of secrecy. It’s not new. The apple brand hates leaks of confidential information. In this case, officials released a false release date for Final Cut Pro on the iPad. Some people had different information so they might identify potential moles. Then just go fishing. And an employee got caught red-handed.
The leak too many
For several months, the leaker @Analyst941 has been talking a lot regarding him on Twitter. Indeed, he is the source of very precise details on iOS 17, Final Cut Pro coming to iPad and new features coming to iPhone 15. This information came unsurprisingly from a person very close to internal projects at Apple. Following the internal investigation, the source of Analyst941 does not escape the summons and the dismissal for having shared secret information with a person outside the company. It turns out that the source of the leaker is his own sister!
Following this bad news, @Analyst941 closed his Twitter account and explained his choice on the MacRumors forum, he wrote:
“This is my last message. I won’t be here, but you deserve a proper farewell. I don’t want to go into too much detail right now due to the legalities of things – but a multi-step set up resulted in my sister being fired from Apple and sadly I’m afraid legal action is then brought once morest both of us, separately. I can’t believe I did this, I’m so sorry for my sister and Apple as a whole. I don’t know what else to say. I know she’s broken, she hates me right now too, like I don’t even know I have a sister anymore. »
