Apple to launch HomePod with 7-inch screen in 2024, says Kuo

The recognized analyst Ming-Chi Kuo published today on Medium the information — hitherto “dormant” — that the Apple would be working on a HomePod with 7-inch screen.

In 2021, the very reliable journalist of Bloomberg, Mark Gurman, even aired that Apple would be working on a speaker with screens and cameras. Although Apple launched the second generation of HomePod earlier this year, it did not bring the changes mentioned.

However, Kuo now suggests that the Cupertino giant has not given up on plans and should launch a version remodeled of the smart speaker already in the first half of 2024.

The analyst predicts that the next generation HomePod might facilitate its integration with other Apple devices in order to bring regarding a “significant shift in the company’s smart home strategy”.

To accomplish this feat, Maçã would be relying on a new supplier, Tianma, which would remain exclusively in the production of the 7″ panel. If this partnership is successful, it is possible that the manufacturer will also start supplying screens for iPads in the future.

If we think of a redesigned model for a year from now, more detailed rumors should soon emerge.
