Apple has struggled with smart home devices as well as cars, but now appears to be focusing on domestic robotics.
Recently, a reliable tipster hinted at the company’s next big project: a large-screen iPad attached to a tabletop robotic arm.
This AI-powered device would be less like the Samsung Ballie and more like a HomePod with a screen that can swivel and rotate.
According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has assigned hundreds of employees this robotic-arm iPad concept.
Anonymous sources said the arm will function as a “command center” for a smart home, combining a HomePod, video conferencing window, and security tool all in one.
Apple reportedly approved the idea in 2022, but the project has gained momentum following the cancellation of the brand’s electric car.
