With Apple’s Keynote approaching, speculation is rife regarding the next iPhone models. This year, the firm promises no less than 4 iPhone 14 and the least we can say is that they have already started to make people talk.
iPhone 14: two standard models and two Pro models
As for a few years now and the release of the iPhone, Apple should once more present several iPhone models during its Keynote on September 7 – according to insiders. This year, we should be entitled to 4 models: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. As you can see, the Cupertino company has not chosen to continue its low-cost series by offering an iPhone 14 mini.
We will therefore have the right, logically, to two “standard” models and two “Pro” models.. And it is precisely on the Pro Max version that the biggest changes will take place, and the least we can say is that they are likely to cause a lot of ink to flow at the time of the release of the iPhone. Brand lovers and critics will therefore certainly find themselves arguing for their cause, especially if all the leaks turn out to be real. We can even already give you the 3 points that will make people talk the most: the screen, the processor and the price.
Screen without notch, but not for all models
If the quality of the screen itself should be identical on all models in the range, the notch for the front camera should differ depending on the version of the smartphone. If Apple had chosen to reduce this famous notch on the iPhone 13, it should be further reduced on the 14th of the name, to the point of only seeing two small dots at the top of the screen. But as we explained to you, this novelty might not appear on all models. Indeed, the “non-Pro” versions should not be equipped with this novelty and would therefore keep the measurements of the iPhone 13.
Will the A15 chip still be at the level this year?
The A15 Bionic chip was the engine behind the iPhone 13and we have been able to see it during this year, it is a very good processor that has really raised the bar compared to its predecessor. According to rumors, the latter seems to be doing so well that Apple might reintegrate it into the “non-Pro” iPhone 14s.
A few months ago the first rumors had emerged regarding this difference in processor between the same generation of iPhone, something that was later confirmed by other sources . Thus, we should therefore end up with a new A16 chip on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
At the moment we do not yet know what improvements this new chip has in store for us. Without going into another debate, it is legitimate when we see this to wonder if changing a processor so frequently on a range of smartphones is necessary. One thing is certain, the price factor (we will come to this a little lower) is likely to make a lot of noise, because if Apple maintains or does not lower the price of the iPhone 14, the firm will expose itself to strong criticism.
Again and once more the price
The war in Ukraine, inflation, the semiconductor crisis which is still affecting many factories, the obstacles encountered in distribution circuits… The list of reasons to raise the price of the iPhone 14 might be very long. The latest rumors say that Apple has already ordered the manufacture of 90 million units of its next iPhone. All this in order to launch the devices earlier on the market and thus reduce the negative impact that is expected at the checkout level. However, it is not yet clear whether their price will increase or not.
As leaks regarding model features and new features come in spades, Apple always finds a way to keep the price list of its iPhones secret until they are presented. The one thing we know for sure is that it will be a controversial factor no matter what. Many people also fear that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will reach staggering sums.
