Launched in December 2020 with a high price in the United States and prohibitive here in Brazil, the Apple AirPods Max wireless headphones have a hidden problem that causes them to accumulate liquid under the cushion.

After many complaints on social networks and official Apple channels, a group of users decided to take action and filed a class action lawsuit against the Cupertino company.

The lawsuit was filed in California and requires Apple to provide the correct assistance to those who are experiencing the problem, in addition to indemnifying those who have already been harmed.

In action, some users say that the phone ends up losing noise cancellation with this condensation problem. In other cases, water seeps into the speakers and causes hum.

According to one of the authors of the action, Apple has been slow to provide a solution for users. On the other hand, the Cupertino company defends itself through a legal representative:

Unlike other over-ear headphones, these are magnetic and have removable ear pads, making any moisture trapped from body heat around the ear more noticeable to users when they remove the ear pads.

For now, Apple has not issued an official note on the matter and there is no date for judgment of the case in California. In any case, the case is likely to drag on, as the plaintiffs are asking people who face the same problem to unite to get possible compensation.
