Apple stops signing iOS 16.5 and ends downgrade support

A Apple announced that it stopped signing iOS version 16.5, which prevents users from being able to downgrade or restore to that software variant in the future. please note that Apple has already released build 16.5.1 of the system.

the version iOS 16.5 has arrived on iPhones in May and many users reported problems, including a reduced battery life after update of the Apple operating system, but compilation 16.5.1 came to correct this and other bugs.

Traditionally, Apple has dropped official support for older versions after releasing new variants for their operating systems. The measure seeks to prevent users from being affected by bugs and old security breaches.

The company often stops signing older versions of iOS after new official builds are released to encourage users to keep their operating systems always up to date, so iOS 16.4 losing support is not uncommon.


Released on April 7, iOS 16.4.1 was a small update with bug fixes that came just under two weeks after the release of iOS 16.4, an update that introduced new Emoji, Safari Web Push notifications, and more.
