The settlement was reached shortly before Apple and Koss over a patent dispute over wireless earphones.according toArchyde.comThe companies informed the federal court in Waco, Texas, of the decision on Saturday, the report said. While the exact terms of the settlement were not disclosed, both Apple and Koss said they had reached a consensus on “all matters in dispute.”
In 2020, Koss gave Apple, Bose, JLab, Plantronics, and Skullcandy all in one go Sue, accused its wireless earphones of infringing patents on its own Striva series of Wi-Fi audio products. Koss believes that these adversaries are trying to “copy” their early developments, and therefore need to pay compensation.Apple has raised thiscounterclaimclaiming that Koss’s patent is invalid, but the outcome of the settlement should mean that Koss’s claim does stand up?
If Apple as strong as Apple finally chooses the path of settlement, then several other ongoing cases may also turn in the direction of Koss’s favor.
