Apple made available today the iOS 17.0.3 (build 21A360) and the iPadOS 17.0.3 (idem) for users of compatible devices.
The update, as promised, fixes an issue involving overheating of iPhones, especially new models, as reported by several users.
This update includes important bug fixes and security updates, and addresses an issue that might cause your iPhone to heat up more than expected.
It is worth noting that Apple also claimed that it was working with the developers of some apps responsible for overloading the system and making this situation worse, so the full resolution of the problem will certainly depend on updating this software.
O Instagram (probably one of the main, if not the main cause of the problem) released version 303.3 today with “bug fixes and performance improvements” — this was Instagram’s second update this week, by the way. Another one also pointed out by Apple as a possible cause of the heating is the Uberwhich also made available a new version of the app (3.582.10000) with corrections.
Below are the links for those who prefer to install the system manually:
Apple also made available a support article indicating two critical security fixes applied in iOS/iPadOS 17.0.3.
For those interested, iOS 17.1 (and other systems) is already in the testing phase and should be released at some point by the end of this month.
