Among the new features presented, the addition of a Favorites Playlist and collaborative playlists on Apple Music stands out. In iMessage, the ability to react through stickers has been incorporated, allowing users to express their reactions in a more visual way. Other notable changes include assigning the Translate function to the action button, introducing weather widgets, contact key verification in iMessage, and implementing a focus filter in Apple Music.

macOS Sonoma 14.2 was also released by Apple for developers alongside iOS 17.2. This update can be downloaded to supported Macs by opting into the beta through the Software Update mechanism in the System Settings app. The Sonoma Developer beta in Beta Updates must be activated to receive OTA updates. macOS Sonoma 14.2 includes improvements to Apple Music, but the most prominent changes are internal, aimed at better stability.

Finally, tvOS 17.2 was made available by Apple for developers, and can be downloaded by opting for the beta version through the Settings app on Apple TV. The most notable change is the new interface that includes a sidebar to aggregate content from Apple and other services.

Apple released, this Thursday (26), the first beta versions of iOS 17.2, iPadOS 17.2, macOS 14.2, watchOS 10.2, tvOS 17.2 and HomePod 17.2. Initially available to the developer community, the updates begin a new testing phase after the release of iOS 17.1, macOS 14.1 and watchOS 10.1.

As usual, these feature updates usually bring the long-awaited news that Apple announced during WWDC. There are several features announced that are not yet available to users, but it is possible that new software versions will bring new features that go beyond bug fixes and security improvements.

There are still no release notes, one of the expectations is that the company will finally release Diary, a new application that will allow you to write and save events throughout a day safely, inserting photos, videos, health information and various other data.

Improvements are also expected in the iMessage application, which should gain a button to display all unread messages more quickly, in addition to the option to use stickers as “reactions” when double-tapping a message bubble.

To install a beta version of iOS, you need to access “Settings”, enter the “General” section, tap “Software Update”, and then “Beta Updates”. After that, choose the beta version for developers.

It is worth noting that the betas of any operating system are usually unstable, therefore, they can present critical errors and make the device unusable. It is recommended that you back up your most important data and, if possible, only test new features in previous versions on devices that you do not use frequently.
