Apple refers the third generation of the iPad mini to the list of old products

Days following Apple added a few more MacBook models and a Watch Series model to its list of vintage and vintage products, the company seems to have decided to add another iPad to join the club, and according to a report by MacRumors, the iPad mini model is likely to join Apple’s legacy lineup.

What are the old Apple products?

An old Apple product is one that does not get regular software products, as the outstanding feature of iPhone, iPad or Mac is that it continues to get software updates for at least five years.

But the old product cannot get any updates, and Apple also does not promise repairs or service for these products, and Apple explains on its support page, “Products are considered old when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 5 years ago and less than 7 years ago.”

This does not mean that the device will stop working, but it does mean that the validity period is denied once more when the user does not receive regular updates.

What are the old Apple products?

The word “obsolete” may sound a bit specific in nature, Apple explains that “Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago.” In other words, they don’t get any updates plus Apple won’t fix them or maintainable at all.

In fact, even service providers can’t order replacement parts for older products, so any product launched in 2013 or 2014 is likely to have – or will receive sooner rather than later – the legacy products.

Which iPad mini is “outdated”?

According to a note obtained by MacRumors that the Wi-Fi and Cellular version of the third-generation iPad mini is set to become obsolete, the cellular variant of the iPad mini (3rd generation) was already on the legacy product slate.
