It’s no secret to anyone that sales of Apple Vision Pro have not done very well since their launch — a situation caused mainly by the high price of the mixed reality (AR/VR) headset and the low interest of developers in the platform. According to information shared by The Informationhowever, this situation may have reached its lowest point yet.
According to journalist Wayne Ma, who signed the report, Apple significantly reduced production of Vision Pro recently to reflect the slow pace of sales. And it doesn’t stop there: the company would also be considering pause it completely later this year.
Apple could suspend production of the Vision Pro as soon as next month amid weak demand, and some suppliers have already halted manufacturing components since early summer. Check out my latest scoop with @QianerLiu for @theinformation

Citing multiple sources “directly involved” with the production of the headset, Ma also said that the slowdown in its production actually began at the beginning of summer (in the northern hemisphere), with some suppliers making cuts as early as May. The estimate is that they would have enough parts in stock for something around 500 mil e 600 thousand deviceswhich could cover demand for the device for the entire year 2025.
The Cupertino giant would have warned the Luxshare — partner responsible for assembling the Vision Pro — that it might need to slow down its production in November. The information is that Luxshare has produced something around thousand Visions Pro per daywhich is half of what it manufactured in the product’s heyday.
Earlier this week, Apple CEO 1, Tim Cooksaid in an interview that the Vision Pro “is not a mass product”, but rather a device for enthusiasts who want to test this type of technology in advance. Rumors suggest that the company is now focusing on a cheaper version of the headset, suggesting that it is already studying ways to make this new line of products popular with the general public.
Even so, the company appears to be being more cautious this time, as it reportedly planned to produce “only” 4 million units of the cheapest version of its headset — half of what it originally predicted for the Vision Pro. The development of the second generation of the more expensive version of the headset would also have been completely paused; Before that, however, Apple would have decided to make minimal changes to its design in order to reuse the first generation parts that ended up sitting in its partners’ warehouses.
