Apple pulls out of OpenAI investment talks

Like Microsoft, Apple relies on the arts of OpenAI in its operating system, but only partially. Nevertheless, there were discussions about a possible investment in OpenAI.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal Apple has now withdrawn from these discussions. This represents an unexpected twist in a collaboration between the two companies.

OpenAI is currently in the final stages of a $6.5 billion funding round, which is expected to close next week. While Apple has decided against investing, other companies such as Microsoft and Nvidia are still considering investing in the AI company, the WSJ report said.

Microsoft, which already has a roughly 10 percent stake in OpenAI, is reportedly planning an additional $1 billion investment. OpenAI is currently undergoing a leadership change and structural changes. Several top managers resigned within a short period of time.

However, this does not mean that Apple is withdrawing from all agreements with OpenAI. We are working together to integrate ChatGPT into iOS and macOS. The goal is to improve Siri’s capabilities by using ChatGPT to handle questions, but only if the user allows it.

Your opinion is required
