Apple prepares to wipe out old programs from the App Store | iThome

Many iOS app developers have recently received a notification from Apple that the app has not been updated for too long, so it will be removed following 30 days, and an update must be submitted within 30 days if it is to remain on the shelf.

A game developer Emilia Lazer-Walker complained on Twitterthe game can be regarded as the existence of a complete object. The free projects she created are not suitable for updating, nor are they suitable for adopting a dynamic service model. Many years ago, they belonged to complete works.

Another game developer, Robert Kabwe, saidApple said it would remove Motivoto, the free-to-play game he released two years ago, which is not cool at all, and the console game, which came out in 2000, is still on sale today, which is an unfair hurdle for indie developers.

Apple announced in 2016 that it would clean up the App Storerequiring developers to improve programs that don’t work properly, don’t follow the latest specs, or haven’t been updated for compatibility in too long, or they’ll be removed.

The latest move is also part of Apple’s App Store Improvementsbut Apple did not say how long it will take to receive a warning notification if it has not been updated.
