O Apple Pencil is one of the coolest iPad accessories. With it, you can not only draw drawings, but also use many built-in features of iPadOS — such as Handwriting (Scribble), for example.
To take this to another level, Apple recently launched the so-called cursor do Apple Pencil (Apple Pencil hover). With it, it is possible to use certain functions without necessarily having to touch the digital pencil to the tablet screen.
Check out some uses of this function below! ✏️
Which iPads are supported?
Currently, only two models support this technology:
Furthermore, you must use a Apple Pencil (2nd generation) — the only one compatible with these two iPad Pros, worth noting.
How to use the resource
- In the iPadOS tool palette, just hold Apple Pencil over them and move. Then tap on the one you want to use at the moment.
- Before marking up a preview, hold the pencil up to 12mm above the iPad screen. On certain tools, you can even change the side angle to get different effects.
- Another cool use of the function is to use the erase tool and select its options (like the eraser size of pixels or objects). That said, just hold the Pencil over the area where the drawing is located to get a preview of the feature’s effects.

Third-party apps that support the feature
In addition to native apps (including those in the iWork suite), there are certain developers that are already taking advantage of the Apple Pencil cursor on iPads.
Did you already know this digital pencil feature? ????
