Apple Music has become the second most popular streaming service in the world, Spotify is in first place

Company MIDiA Research published a study of the global market for music streaming services.

In 2021, the total number of paid subscribers amounted to 523.9 million people, which is 26.4% more than in 2020.

Spotify continues to be the most popular streaming service. It accounts for 31% or 160 million subscriptions.

Apple Music is in second place with a 15% share. It has over 78 million users, regarding half the size of Spotify.

The fastest growing service was YouTube Music. It is used by 42 million people.

The rating also included Yandex.Music, which occupies 2% of the market with 10.5 million subscribers. Their number has doubled in a year. [9to5Mac]
