Preview versions of apps Apple Music, Apple TV e Apple Devices for Windows 11 were updated today. These apps were launched at the beginning of the year as a way to replace the iTunes — when installing them, the classic player stops working — in order to offer a better experience than the old one jukebox and that of the web versions of those same services.
The updates in question fix several bugs in the apps. Although specific points are not highlighted, Reddit users noticed some improvements brought by the updates: now, there is no longer a problem in the first 15 seconds of a song when playing the version lossless, nor are random songs played when advancing a song in an album or when your songs run out. In the latter case, songs related to what was being heard are played.
There are also new features: Apple Music now supports media control via the Windows keyboard and also gained song lyrics — a feature that was already available in the web version. These, however, are not synchronized with the duration of the song – they are, in fact, static. In any case, they are important news that bring apps closer and closer to their definitive launch.
Also, something noticed in these updates was the absence of references to the “xrOS” and to “RealityOS”, which were found in the codes of the first version of Apple Devices. According to MacRumors, those parts that cited the operating system of the company’s alleged augmented reality headset were removed from the code. The expectation is that the product will be launched at WWDC23, in June.
It is not yet known exactly when the final versions of the apps will be released, so more fixes are still needed, in addition to more testing. However, the updates already seem to fix at least part of the problems, making the apps much more comfortable to use.
