Apple launches testing app for iPhone/iPad accessories

Apple today added to the App Store o Accessory Development Assistant — an application which allows manufacturers to test accessories who are creating for iPhones e iPads. The app, however, was added to the app store so hidden — that is, it can only be accessed and downloaded through the direct link, and it is not possible to find it through the search, as usual.

It is worth remembering that the App Store started to allow apps to be inserted in a hidden way just over a year ago. The function is especially useful for apps that are not intended for the general public, having a very specific purpose, as is the case with the software released today.

As described by Apple, the app is a way for manufacturers to test and verify that their accessories are working as expected on Apple devices. Screenshots show tests with features like NFCNear field communicationor near-field communication.”>1focus, camera stabilization and battery drain.

As remembered the 9to5Mac, it is possible that the company has already been distributing this app privately for some time to certain developers. Its launch on the App Store in a hidden way, so it may just be a way to facilitate this process.

It is worth remembering that, not so long ago, other apps were also released with similar purposes, although for different applications. In the case, we had one for testing with Car Keys, as well as another focused on GymKit.
