Apple recently updated iOS and macOS system, mainly to fix two zero-day vulnerabilities.according to Ars Technica The two flaws present the risk of allowing hackers to penetrate the inside of the OS. So far, Apple said it “received a report that the vulnerability might be actively exploited,” but it has not said whether any users’ devices have been compromised. At the same time, they also thanked the “anonymous researchers” who exposed the problem.
Of the two vulnerabilities, CVE-2022-22675 affects iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, and it might allow hackers to gain critical permissions to execute malicious programs. The other CVE-2022-22674 vulnerability mainly affects computer systems, and it brings the risk of leakage of core memory or system memory. Counting these two, Apple has patched a total of five zero-day vulnerabilities this year.
While eliminating the zero-day threat, iOS 15.4.1 also addresses an issue that was causing excessive battery drain, as well as catching a bug that prevented Braille from functioning properly.
