Reportedly, there is no minimum deposit or balance requirement to open the account, and users can create the account from the iPhone’s Wallet app.

Apple said in a statement that all Daily Cash Rewards earned through the Apple Card will be automatically deposited into the applicable savings account. Daily Cash is Apple’s card rewards program that gives you back up to 3% of your purchases.

The savings account service was launched through a partnership with Goldman Sachs.

According to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the annual interest rate on savings accounts in the United States is just 0.35%, the national average. Therefore, the 4.15% that Apple offers is more than 10 times higher than the US average.

However, other savings accounts launched by large credit unions, online and brick-and-mortar banks offer interest rates similar to Apple’s.

Citibank offers an annual interest rate of 4.75% if you deposit at least $5,000, and Goldman Sachs’ online personal loan platform Marcus also guarantees an annual interest rate of 3.9% with no minimum balance or monthly fee. Capital One’s savings account also offers users an annual interest rate of 3.5% with no minimum balance requirement.

Apple Card savings account users can manage their account through a dashboard displayed in the Wallet app, where they can track interest and account balances or withdraw funds.
