Apple intends to launch chatbot to compete with ChatGPT in 2024

As everything (or rumors) indicate, Apple has already created its own chatbot service that is being used within the company. The speculation is that big tech has built its own framework to create large language templates that will rival ChatGPT.

This information was disclosed in the new bulletin by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman. “Behind the scenes, Apple has been worried regarding missing out on a potentially fundamental change in the way devices operate,” reports Gurman. “Generative AI promises transform the way people interact with phones, computers and other technologies. And Apple’s devices, which generated nearly $320 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year, might suffer if the company doesn’t keep pace with advances in AI.”

To combat its late entry into the field, Apple “began laying the groundwork for AI services with the Ajax framework, as well as a ChatGPT-like tool for internal use. Ajax was created last year to unify machine learning development at Apple, according to people familiar with the effort.”

Work on Ajax has already helped improve search, Siri and Maps. Apple apparently doesn’t have a commercial release schedule, but Gurman points out that “persons familiar with the work believe that Apple intends to make a significant AI-related announcement within the next year.”

Apple is looking to hire more AI experts, with Siri seemingly the most obvious place for their work to be centralized and host the company’s launch.
