A Apple today officially confirmed the closure of its iconic store in Infinite Loopin the city of Cupertino (California). According to MacRumorsthe definitive closing is scheduled for the day January 20, 2024a Saturday.
Between 1993 and 2017, the location was Maçã’s headquarters until the opening of Apple Park. In 2015, the Apple Store (until then called the Apple Company Store) was completely renovated and started selling iPhones, Macs, Apple Watches and a variety of products that were only found there.
Despite the closure, current team members must continue in their roles within the company. Some employees will have to be relocated to other nearby stores, including the Apple Park Visitor Center it’s at Apple Valley Fair (in San Jose).
In the statement shared with the MacRumorsMaçã emphasized its commitment to maintaining accessibility to customers through other channels, such as the company website e the Apple Store appas well as other stores.
According to the website, offices on the Infinite Loop campus will still be used by the company’s corporate employees. Additionally, the courtyard of the main building is currently undergoing work and is expected to remain under construction until early next year.
Apple Royal Hawaiian, in Honolulu (capital of Hawaii), will also close its doors on January 20th, as Maçã had announced. On the other hand, last week the giant opened a store in North Carolina and another in South Korea.
Last June, it is worth remembering, the Bloomberg revealed that Apple has an ambitious plan to revitalize its physical presence in global retail until 2027with the aim of improving the shopping experience for customers.
