Speculated for at least three years to be one of Apple’s next bets for the smart home, the supposed HomePod with a screen would have been postponed again, as suggested by the analyst and leaker Ming-Chi Kuo. The device, which would have an iPhone 16 chip and Apple Intelligence features, would only arrive at the end of 2025 due to “challenges in software development”.
The existence of a version of the HomePod, Apple’s smart speaker, with a built-in screen has been rumored since 2021, along with rumors of successive delays.
The most recent forecast pointed to a debut in the first quarter of 2025 (between January and March), but difficulties would have motivated Apple to push the launch once again, this time for the period of WWDC 2025, the annual developer conference expected to take place in June, or even for the third quarter (between July and September).

>What are the rumored features of the Apple HomePod with a screen?
**Interviewer:** Welcome back to the show. Today we’re discussing the latest rumors surrounding Apple’s supposed HomePod with a screen. Joining me is tech analyst, [Guest Name]. [Guest Name], thanks for being here.
**[Guest Name]:** Thanks for having me.
**Interviewer:** Let’s get right to it. Reports suggest Apple has pushed back the launch of this device again, with an expected arrival in late 2025. What are your thoughts on these continued delays?
**[Guest Name]:** Well,
it’s certainly frustrating for those eagerly awaiting this product. However, it’s not unusual for Apple to delay major releases, especially when dealing with complex new hardware and software integrations. This device is rumored to have some advanced features, like an iPhone 16 chip and Apple Intelligence capabilities, so it’s understandable that they’d want to ensure a polished product before release.
**Interviewer:** Do you think this repeated postponement could impact consumer interest by the time it finally launches?
**[Guest Name]:** That’s a valid concern. The smart home market is evolving rapidly. By the time this device hits shelves, there will likely be strong competition from other players. It remains to be seen if Apple can still capture significant market share with this product.
**Interviewer:** Now, Apple has a history of
successfully entering new device categories. What do you see as the potential strengths of a HomePod with a screen?
**[Guest Name]:** If done right, this device could be a game-changer. Imagine a central hub for controlling your smart home, making video calls, and accessing entertainment, all through a single, elegant device.
**Interviewer:** Some might argue that we already have devices that offer those functionalities, like tablets or smart displays.
What would make Apple’s offering stand out?
**[Guest Name]:**
Apple has a knack for creating intuitive user experiences and seamless integration. If they can combine that with their ecosystem of services and apps, they could create a truly compelling experience. But, ultimately, its success will depend on how well they execute and meet consumer expectations.
**Interviewer:** I think we have a lot to look forward to,
and perhaps some debate about whether it’s all worth the wait.
[Guest Name], thanks for sharing your insights.
